di-Lab, under the leadership of Professor Kyungryul Park, welcomed Dr. Anders Nordström, former Acting Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), for a special seminar held at the Yang Seungtaik Auditorium (E9 Cultural Building, Academic Cultural Complex).
The event aimed to promote global health best practices and raise awareness about sustainable and healthy living, aligning with the objectives of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Dr. Nordström delivered a keynote titled “Global Health in Perspective and My Journey in International Organization,” offering a comprehensive view of global health challenges and responses. His presentation covered the historical evolution of health and disease, climate change, policy measures, and the importance of international cooperation to achieve the SDGs. The seminar drew a diverse audience of students from various academic backgrounds, sparking lively discussions and engagement.

Before the seminar, Dr. Nordström, accompanied by Professor Park, paid tribute at the Daejeon National Cemetery (국립대전현충원), visiting the mausoleum of the late Dr. Jong-wook Lee (이종욱 전 사무총장), a former WHO Director-General and a revered figure in global health.

The event reinforced the importance of global collaboration in addressing health challenges and highlighted the ongoing relevance of Dr. Lee’s and Dr. Nordström's legacy in shaping international health policy.
