한국과학기술원(KAIST) 과학기술과 글로벌발전 연구센터(G-CODEs)는 2025년 11월 20일(목), KAIST 대전 본원 학술문화관(E9) 양승택 오디토리움에서 「글로벌 과학기술협력포럼: 영향과 전망 (Forum on Global Cooperation in Science and Technology: Reflections and Prospects)」 을 성공적으로 개최하였습니다.
이번 포럼은 급변하는 국제 과학기술 환경 속에서 한국이 글로벌 연구생태계와 협력하며 나아가야 할 전략과 방향을 논의하기 위해 마련되었습니다. 본 행사에는 정부, 학계, 과학기술 및 정책 연구기관 관계자 등 다양한 분야 전문가들이 참여해 국제과학기술협력의 필요성과 가능성에 대해 심도 있게 논의했습니다.
행사는 총 3개의 세션으로 진행되어 ▲미래지향적 과학기술협력 전략 ▲과학기술 분야 국제협력의 제약과 전망 ▲국가별 협력 사례 기반 한국의 전략 방향 등을 중심으로 발표와 토론이 이어졌습니다. 특히 연구데이터 기반 협업모델, 글로벌 공동연구 인프라, 연구협력 다변화, 기술외교 체계 등 과학기술협력의 실질적인 과제와 정책적 의미를 폭넓게 다루었습니다.
이어지는 종합 토론을 통해 인공지능, 반도체, 바이오 등 다양한 분야에 걸쳐 국제 공동연구의 확대 필요성이 제기되었으며, 한국의 연구 기관들이 글로벌 협력 플랫폼 구축에 보다 적극적으로 나서야 한다는 공감대를 이뤘습니다.
KAIST G-CODEs Successfully Hosts the "Forum on Global Cooperation in Science and Technology"
KAIST's Global Center for Development and Strategy (G-CODEs) successfully hosted the "Forum on Global Cooperation in Science and Technology: Reflections and Prospects" on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the Yang Seung-taek Auditorium in the Academic Cultural Complex (E9), KAIST Main Campus, Daejeon.
This forum was organized to discuss strategies and directions for Korea to advance in collaboration with the global research ecosystem amidst the rapidly changing international science and technology landscape. Experts from various fields, including government, academia, and research institutes, participated to discuss the necessity and possibilities of international S&T cooperation.
The event consisted of three sessions focusing on: ▲ Future-oriented S&T cooperation strategies, ▲ Constraints and prospects of international cooperation in S&T, and ▲ Korea's strategic direction based on country-specific cooperation cases. Presentations and discussions covered practical tasks and policy implications, such as research data-based collaboration models, global joint research infrastructure, diversification of research cooperation, and technology diplomacy systems.
During the comprehensive discussion, participants highlighted the need to expand international joint research in key strategic fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), semiconductors, and biotechnology. A consensus was reached that Korean research institutions should take a more active role in establishing global cooperation platforms.
