di-Lab & G-CODEs Workshop in Jeonju

On June 19–20, 2025, di-Lab and KAIST G-CODEs (Global Center for Development and Strategy) members gathered in Jeonju City for a special workshop that brought together the whole team and marked an exciting new chapter for our research community.

Prof. Kyungryul Park, head of di-Lab and director of our newly launched Global Center for Development and Strategy (G-CODEs), led the event. The center team, Soyeon Lee, and di-Lab members Seunghyun Kim, Junho Kwon, Ryanna, Dongjoon Lee, Seohee Yoon, and Dika also attended.

Over the two days, members introduced their backgrounds and shared how their studies connect to the lab and the center’s goals. Prof. Park then introduced G-CODEs, followed by an open discussion on how we can work together moving forward.

The workshop wasn’t only about research, it was also a chance to enjoy local culture. Participants tried making Moju (모주), a traditional Jeonju drink, and visited the historic Gyeonggijeon Shrine (경기전). These experiences gave our international members a taste of Jeonju’s heritage while strengthening the bonds within the team.

This workshop was a meaningful opportunity to reflect on our shared vision and to look ahead to new collaborations under CSTG. We look forward to carrying the energy from Jeonju into our next steps as a community.

di-Lab & G-CODEs 전주 워크숍

2025년 6월 19일부터 20일까지, di-Lab과 KAIST G-CODEs(Global Center for Development and Strategy) 구성원들이 전주에서 워크숍을 열었습니다. 이번 자리는 연구실과 센터의 모든 구성원이 함께 모여 새로운 도약을 다짐하는 뜻깊은 시간이었습니다.

워크숍은 di-Lab을 이끌고 새롭게 출범한 G-CODEs의 센터장을 맡고 있는 박경렬 교수님이 진행하시고, 센터의 이소연 연구원을 비롯해 di-Lab의 김승현, 권준호, Ryanna, 이동준, 윤서희, Dika 이 함께했습니다.

이틀간의 일정 동안 각 구성원들은 자신의 연구 배경과 관심사를 소개하고, 이를 연구실 및 센터의 목표와 어떻게 연결할 수 있을지 공유했습니다. 이어 박경렬 교수님이 G-CODEs의 비전을 설명했으며, 앞으로의 협력 방안에 대한 자유로운 토론이 이어졌습니다.

워크숍은 연구 교류에만 그치지 않고 전주의 문화를 체험하는 시간도 포함했습니다. 전주 전통 음료인 모주를 만들어보기도 하고, 경기전을 방문해 역사와 문화를 접했습니다. 이러한 활동은 글로벌 구성원들에게 전주의 매력을 알리고 팀의 유대감을 더욱 돈독히 하는계기가 되었습니다.

이번 전주 워크숍은 우리가 공유하는 비전을 확인하고, G-CODEs와의 협력 가능성을 모색하는 의미 있는 자리였습니다. 앞으로도 전주에서 얻은 에너지를 바탕으로 더욱 활발한 연구 공동체로 나아가길 기대합니다.
