KAIST G-CODEs, 세계은행·케냐·코소보 정부 대표단 초청 간담회 개최

KAIST 과학기술과 글로벌발전 연구센터(G-CODEs, 센터장 박경렬)는 2026년 5월 6일(수), 대전 본원 교직원 회관 홍보관에서 세계은행(World Bank) 및 케냐·코소보 정부 대표단과의 간담회를 개최하였습니다.

이번 방문에는 케냐 ICT·디지털 관련 부처, 코소보 디지털화·공공행정 부처 관계자를 포함한 총 25명의 대표단이 참석하였으며, KAIST의 연구 역량 및 기술·정책 분야의 협력 가능성을 함께 모색하는 자리로 마련되었습니다.

간담회에서는 이균민 교학부총장의 환영과 함께, G-CODEs 센터장 박경렬 교수가 센터의 주요 연구 활동과 글로벌 발전을 위한 비전을 소개하였습니다. G-CODEs는 AI·디지털 기술을 활용한 국제개발협력을 핵심 의제로 삼아, 개발도상국의 지속가능한 성장을 지원하는 연구와 실천을 이어오고 있습니다.

이번 방문은 KAIST와 세계은행, 그리고 아프리카·유럽의 신흥국 정부 간 실질적인 협력 논의의 첫걸음으로, 향후 구체적인 공동 프로젝트로 이어질 것으로 기대됩니다.

KAIST G-CODEs Hosts Invited Roundtable with World Bank, Kenya, and Kosovo Government Delegations

KAIST's Global Center for Development and Strategy (G-CODEs) hosted a roundtable meeting with a delegation from the World Bank, the Government of Kenya, and the Government of Kosovo on May 6, 2026 (Wednesday) at the PR Hall of the Faculty Club (E5), KAIST Daejeon main campus.

The delegation, totaling 25 participants, included representatives from Kenya's ICT and digital-related ministries and Kosovo's ministries of digitalization and public administration. The visit provided an opportunity to explore KAIST's research capabilities and discuss potential areas of cooperation in technology and policy.

At the roundtable, Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Lee Gyun-min extended a warm welcome to the delegation. G-CODEs Director Professor Kyung Ryul Park then introduced the center's key research activities and its vision for advancing global development. G-CODEs focuses on leveraging AI and digital technologies as core tools for international development cooperation, supporting sustainable growth in developing countries through research and practice.

This visit marks an important first step toward substantive collaboration between KAIST, the World Bank, and emerging economies in Africa and Europe, with hopes that concrete joint projects will follow in the near future.
